For toy collectors, fair access to Target exclusives is rare based on their broken preorder system creating a vacuum of rising prices in the secondary market. It also creates frustration with collectors, who are also regular Target shoppers, and employees who are incessantly asked when product is due to arrive. Many retail companies offer store exclusives. Best Buy, Walmart and GameStop to name a few, make exclusives readily accessible to collectors to at least have a shot to obtain them. Target computer preorders are sold out within seconds of launch. Collectors waste countless trips to the storefront in an effort to not pay ridiculous secondary market prices. Now reaching five times MSRP on eBay. This week alone, four different retailers were given exclusives for a Mandalorian wave and a Star Wars holiday line. The only store with a significant level of difficulty (I mean unobtainable without luck) was the Target exclusive from these waves.
