Some of the people that are signing this petition may know about Shane Hickey and his upsetting and heartbreaking story at his farm. As most of us know, Australia is going through a major drought and although it may not affect the people which reside in urbanised areas, the farmers are going through a really tough time. When I watched the video of Shane Hickey, I was bewildered at emotionally hurt by the way he described he was treated by the supermarkets. He is a dairy farmer who is paid only $2.46 an hour as he mentioned in his video. When I heard this, I was hurt and thought that just the idea of it was absolutely ridiculous and inhumane. I mean come on, I thought we were a fully developed country! Here we are talking about pay which sweatshop workers who work for big brands get paid in third-class countries! Shane Hickey wanted his video to be watched by people so he posted it on Facebook. It went viral and was viewed more than 1 million times and shared many times. He received a lot of support and people wanted to donate money to him. 

I was surprised as to how he replied to the people which wanted to donate money to him. He told the public in his next video that a lot of other farmers just like him were going through the same problems and that he didn't want anyone to donate any money to him. I think just about anyone can agree that that is an incredibly down to earth thought and shows exactly how humble this person is.

This petition was not intended to publicly offend anyone at all. But personally speaking, I really think that has got to stop. Shane also has three kids (a family) to feed, pay the mortgage and work for a living. This is just ridiculous and a form of sick behaviour. If you agree with me, kindly sign this petition to stop the violation of a beneficial human right. It is a form of slavery which unfortunately is still a prevalent obstacle that the world has to conquer. So the decision and heavyweight is on your shoulders. So are you with the farmers?
