GET COCA COLA TO USE BIODEGRADABLE BOTTLES

GET COCA COLA TO USE BIODEGRADABLE BOTTLES
The Issue
In 2016, 480 Billion plastic bottles were produced globally. Of these, 110 Billion were made by Coca-Cola most of which end up in our oceans and other spaces inhabited by wildlife. Coca cola is one of the biggest offenders of plastic waste yet still use non-biodegradable bottles.
The international environmental group said Coca-Cola’s long-awaited policy features a number of measures for its global operations that are weaker than those it had already announced for Europe. The soft-drink giant’s new plan does not include any target to reduce the amount of plastic packaging it produces.
Excess plastic in our environment can affect our eco-system and ruin the world we live in. Wild animals, especially those in the sea are at risk as the number of plastic bottles in the environment increases. These animals can ingest or be choked by plastic packaging.
Our aim is to increase the awareness surrounding businesses disregard for plastic waste when they are the largest offenders. Our hope is that educating people will encourage companies such as coca cola to re-evaluate their packaging.
