Bring back Stevia Coke!

The Issue

Our country has a sugar problem. Sodas are one of the worst culprits. A can of regular Coca-Cola has 39 grams of sugar. That's equal to 10 sugar cubes! Diet sodas are not much better, as Aspartame and other artificial sweeteners can be cancer-causing and have other bad side effects.

In 2019, Coca-Cola finally launched a naturally sweetened cola: Stevia Coke. But when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, there was a shortage of aluminum and soda manufacturers temporarily discontinued some of their products so that there would be enough aluminum cans for their best sellers. And since Stevia Coke had only been on the market for less than a year, guess which soda was the first to go!

In Coca-Cola's own words:

“We’re extremely excited to launch Coca-Cola Stevia and offer more no-sugar drinks to our Canadian fans,” said Mike Samoszewski Vice President, Marketing at Coca-Cola Ltd. “People want drinks that taste amazing and are actively looking for brands and varieties that fit their lifestyle."

"Coca-Cola Stevia is for those looking for great Coca-Cola taste with a plant-based alternative to sugar that has zero calories and zero sugar.”

The latest addition to Coca-Cola Canada’s growing beverage portfolio is another step in the company’s commitment to evolve its beverage portfolio to bring Canadians more of the drinks they want.

...but then they took it away! Please sign our petition and let Coca-Cola Canada know that you want Stevia Coke back!
