Bernice Stevens started this petition to Cobb County Department of Transportation

Cumberland Parkway is becoming a danger zone! There has been an increasing number of vehicle accidents on Cumberland Parkway, specifically in front of the Creative World School and the James Creek subdivision. It's time we unite to share our concerns with the Cobb County Department of Transportation (https://www.cobbcounty.org/transportation). Together, we can lobby for appropriate investments in speed deterrents (stoplights, stop signs, speed bumps, radar detectors) to ensure the safety of our community.

Currently, we do not have any traffic lights nor stop signs between Danube Lane and Beech Haven Trail, which makes it difficult and dangerous for residents to enter and exit the various subdivisions and intersections along Cumberland Parkway. The sidewalks on both sides of the road are regularly used for exercise. Given the number of accidents with impact to the sidewalks, there is an increased risk for pedestrian injuries. However, the Cobb County Department of Transportation completed studies a few years ago and deemed the current speed limit signage is sufficient.

If you are concerned about the safety of our community and would like to see change, I ask that you sign this petition for submission to the Cobb County Department of Transportation. You may also reach out to the following decision-makers directly:

Paul Giles, Engineer II – Traffic Operations (Paul.Giles@cobbcounty.org)
Kelly Patrick, Signal Engineer (Kelly.Patrick@cobbcounty.org)

Thank you for your support!
