I’m starting this petition to have Serenity Apartments on N. Ardenwood shut down. The apartment complex is a danger to the tenants and also the community! The owners are very rude and show no concern for the units. There has been more than 3 killings within 2 months and there is a “NO GUN POLICY!” Yet, it is not enforced. Many of times, I have had to duck and hide because the shots were so close to my apartment window. The gates on the one way in, one way out entrance/exit have been broken for years. A lot of the apartment units are old, moldy, mildewed, and the carpets were soaked or had mold from the water. A member of, The city council whose term ends Dec. 31, 2020, Also spoke about “having plans to look into whether the city-parish can condemn Serenity Apartments.“ https://www.wbrz.com/news/council-member-wants-apartments-shut-down-following-repeat-complaints/ On multiple occasions, they have taken the tents application fees and deposits. Yet, they are still left with no units or ran down units. They won’t hire a cleaning crew there is an much older lady cleaning these apartments each time someone moves out or is evicted! The environment speaks for itself it is toxic and hazardous! If you were ever effected by these apartments or know someone I urge you to sign this petition. There is money no is involved in it and the only benefit would be Serenity Apartments being closed down permanently. However, in my opinion all of the money they took from people should be reimbursed. If they ever decided to reopen Serenity Apartment they need to demolish them and than rebuilt.
