Close The Surabaya Zoo (The Deaths zoo)

Close The Surabaya Zoo (The Deaths zoo)
The Issue
In Surabaya, Indonesia, there lies a zoo known for animal cruelty and killing of rare and endangered species. Nicknamed the Death Zoo, this horrendous zoo has about 20 animal deaths per month. This must stop now, especially after the killing of a Sumatran Tiger, a heavily endangered species. They lock endangered animals in cages while visitors are allowed to throw plastic at them. A giraffe was found dead with 30 grams of plastic in its stomach. The reason for this is their lack of care for their animals. They barely train their employees and their “doctor” is barely willing to give them medicine. I have no idea how this is even close to legal, but must be shut down, for the sake of many endangered species, and the harm it causes to our precious ecosystem. Why does a zoo like this still exist? We don’t know. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) ran an investigation on this place, and this forced The Surabaya Zoo to slightly upgrade their space, but they also tripled their prices. Still after all these renovations they still have many animals dying. At WWPA we believe that places like this should be closed, we can’t let these beautiful animals die so soon. Sources say that now, “Zoos are doing more harm than good.”
So, how will we close down this place?
With your signatures we will have a stronger petition, and we may be able to alert local agencies who can deal with this. Also, spreading the news of the horrible treatment of these species will eventually reach people who are able to shut this animal-abusing “zoo” down before they kill another tiger. These atrocities must stop, so please post this on any media platform you can and one day, these animals will be able to recuperate and go back to the wild.
