Many of you told us the Times article was behind a paywall. Thank you—we’re now sharing a freely accessible version published by The Sun:
This report exposes what we’ve said from the beginning: Jenna’s death was not an unforeseeable accident—it was the result of institutional failure, inadequate emergency planning, and a lack of accountability.
But this isn’t just about one school or one tragedy.
Private Funded Schools (PFS) like SJII operate across borders and often fall outside the scope of standard national education regulations. Their model relies on high fees, aspirational branding and complex legal structures that can result in limited external oversight - especially in crisis situations.
It is a transnational problem—and governments everywhere are behind the curve.
This petition is inspired by Jenna, but it’s also about preventing another child from falling through the same cracks.
Please keep sharing. We need more signatures. We need more voices.
