Close The Aura, owners complicit in the murder of a 21 year old!

The Issue

On the 30th of October 2022, a 21 year old young man lost his life due to the negligence of The Aura Lounge Club. Givani attended The Aura, with a small group of friends, for a birthday celebration.

Shortly after their arrival at the venue they were approached by a group of men who are unknown to them, who subsequently pulled a knife out on them INSIDE The Aura Lounge.

The Aura Lounge staff and members of their security team witnessed this taking place and made the decision to rid themselves of any responsibility for the safety of their patrons by ejecting them from the venue. This decision proved to be fatal. Givani was stabbed moments later outside of The Aura Lounge. Despite his injury, he then made it across the street where he collapsed and was set upon, again, by the perpetrators. They stabbed Givani a total of 10 times.

Since Givani's death, we have been inundated with reports from within the local community. We learned that there have been long-standing issues surrounding The Aura Lounge, which attracts a high level of anti social behaviour and disruption in the area. The Harrowtimes.co.uk (15 September 2022) gives details of various incidents relating to anti-social/criminal behaviour in and around the Aura Lounge. It highlights increasing complaints from local residents and the concerns of the Met Police.

We have identified a significant number of critical safety hazards since Givani's murder. This includes staff's failure to report those, in possession of and making threats with knives, to the police; their failure to undertake robust searches of attendees prior to admission, and their use of faulty ID screening processes on entry. All of which would have, collectively, saved Givani's life.

Due to their absolute lack of regard for life and keeping their patrons safe, an innocent young man has lost his life. The worst has now happened and need not have happened if proper measures were put in place by Aura Lounge.

To know Givani was to love him, he was an upstanding member of his community, and a lifelong Brent resident.  His love for football saw him continue to play in a local team after he left school.  Givani was a hardworking young man, a family man with great morals and a sunny disposition, he had a great future ahead of him.

This has been a huge loss to his friends and family alike.  We will do all we can to avoid another life being lost so prematurely due to negligence and total disregard for a human life by The Aura.

Whilst we support the development of local business in the area, it is paramount that these do not compromise our safety. It is understood that local business feel conflicted about the future of The Aura Lounge due to the revenue that it brings in. We say, safety of lives over everything, including money.

We have created this on-line petition and are asking the public to sign in support of the closure of this establishment. The Aura Lounge Licensing meeting with Brent council, will be held on the 28th of November 2022 and we would greatly appreciate your support in signing the petition for the closure of this club.
