Close schools for Raising Cane's grand opening on December 16

The Issue

Raising Cane's has never disappointed with their grand openings, and the upcoming event in Cumming promises to be no different. Personally, I'm thrilled for this new addition to our community. According to their website, Raising Cane's plans to pull out all the stops with DJs and a vibrant atmosphere, ensuring everyone enjoys a fast and friendly experience.

But let's be real—this opening isn't just another event. It's an extraordinary occasion that many students and community members are excited to participate in. With the anticipation building, it stands to reason that schools should close on Tuesday, December 16, to allow full participation in this exciting celebration. Otherwise, we risk facing over 100 students absent from their classes due to the irresistible pull of the Raising Cane's buzz.

Closing schools for the day would not only support the community spirit but also allow everyone to enjoy this momentous occasion without the stress of juggling school responsibilities and the event's festivities. Let's join forces to make sure no student misses out on the fun and that we make this grand opening a huge success.

Aditionally, weather will be COLD and we will have elementary school, middle and high school kids WAITING outside for the Bus, which is horrible for these people and parents who worry about their children getting sick.

We urge the local authorities and school district to recognize the significance of this event and temporarily close schools on this special day. By doing so, they'll acknowledge the enthusiasm and support from both students and the broader community.
