INNOCENT PRISONERS OF PINNAWALA ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE IN SRI LANKA
Make a Change by .supporting this cause to CLOSE PINNEWALA ELEPHANT TORTURE ORPHANAGE run by the Sri Lankan government.
The elephants are innocent prisoners showing signs of severe emotional and physical trauma due to cruel treatment.
At Pinnawala Elephant orphanage, a male elephant bull killed by staff -by cutting his tail and genitals, an extreme form of animal cruelty. Does anyone feel safe place to visit?
ClLOSE! this cruelty orphanage and boycott travels to Sri Lanka due to animal cruelty. At Pinnawala elephants are never released into the wild, they remain captive, chained under the water to conceal cruel treatment to the tourists. They are beaten, pierced, and chained.
Breaking baby elephants by placing them in in small, confined enclosures and beaten until they are compliant is an outdated cruelty practised at PNNEWALA due to lack of expert knowledge to care for these animals and driven by to exploit them.
Pinnawala breeds elephants in captivity, removing babies from their mothers, and selling them to private collections and to Buddhist temples, where they endure lifelong torture of being chained, and walked for long distances, covered in clothes and lights unable to ventilate themselves, and beaten when they do not comply.

Pinnawala removes Baby elephants from their mothers soon after birth. This causes young Elephants showing signs of distress by rocking and head bobbing. The mother elephants chained, and babies removed soon after birth to stop bonding. Poor mum, not allowed to lie down, rocking her whole-body feeling helplessness to protect her babies as seen in this Video.

The video released two years ago by Pinnawala as "Amazing" is distressing to watch; shows a poor mother chained, who had given birth to twins is rocking violently, knowing the orphanage is separating her babies. She is not even caring for her babies like they normally do in the wild, because of extreme anxiety caused by this orphanage due to lack of knowledge about how to care for them
“When we asked why elephants were chained and kept circling their heads, we were told "their will first has to be broken.”
Sri Lankan government runs Pinnawala Elephant orphanage, which is also promoted by the Sri Lankan Tourism Board as sustainable. This place is neither ethical nor sustainable tourism. Keeping Pinnawala open purely for exploitation of innocent Elephants. This is damaging tourism industry because people come and to see elephants free and happy as they are in South Africa.
"TO BREED MORE ANIMALS FOR THE PURPOSE OF BEING KEPT IN ZOOS, OR SENT TO PRIVATE COLLECTIONS OR TEMPLES, CLEARLY DOES NOT SATISFY THE REQUIREMENT OF KEEPING THEM FOR THEIR WELFARE. – Born Free Animals welfare foundation made a report about Pinnawala,
If we gather enough awareness around the world to END CRUELTY ENDURED BY THESE ELEPHANTS OF PINNAWAL ORPHANAGE, SRI LANKA, the publicity will be damaging to the Sri Lankan tourism industry, and hence the local businesses will pressure the government to close the orphanage, that is causing suffering and extinction.
If tourists are aware that this place is far from ethical tourism, will reduce tourism revenues that go towards animal exploitation in Sri Lanka. Stop HARMING ELEPHANTS by keeping in Captivity.
With all your support we can make a change to free these highly intelligent animals back into the wild. By asking the Sri Lankan government to Close Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage that is harming revenues and Elephants.
By safeguarding their habitat, Sri Lanka could profit (monetary) from ethical and sustainable tourism, free roaming in the wild that does not harm elephants and prevents poaching from their natural environment- Born Free.
I ask the Sri Lankan Government and Department of Wildlife Conservation to Conserve Endangered Elephants by ending captivity. ACT NOW:
CLOSE PINNAWALA ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE. RELEASE ELEPHANTS INTO WILD. THEY ARE SAFER IN WILD THAN IN PINNAWALA .
STOP BREEDING ELEPHANTS FOR PRIVATE COLLECTIONS AND TO ENDURE CRUELTY IN BUDDHIST TEMPLE PARADES UNTIL THEY DIE
STOP KEEPING ELEPHANTS IN CAPTIVITY.
PROMOTE CRUELTY FREE TOURISM.
