Opened in 1955 and to this date more than 115 dolphins and whales have died in the facility’s care.
The parks first orca Hugo died of a brain aneurysm due to constantly hitting his head against the concrete walls of his prison. He was a prisoner 10yrs before his death in 1980
Miami Seaquarium sits on 38 acres of land majority of which is parking lot
Miami Seaquarium is home to the worlds smallest orca tank being only 20 feet at its deepest point. Inhumane considering Orcas can swim up to 35mph and routinely swim thousands of miles.
