Jack's Corner Pub needs to be shut down

I'm a resident of the So Hud neighborhood living close to Jack's Corner Pub. In my time living in this neighborhood I have noticed an extreme and sudden uptick in violence, recklessness, obnoxiously loud music and shouting, and, rather surprisingly, gunshots all occurring outside of Jack's Corner Pub at nighttime. All of the examples I'm about to describe involve patrons of Jack's Corner Pub. On Thursday March 31st at around 1:45 A.M. I witnessed a gun fight in the middle of Summit Street where I observed around 25 - 30 gunshots between multiple individuals. The men were shooting at each other with family homes and apartments in direct line of fire of the bullets. Depressingly enough, this is one of multiple gun fights that have erupted at Jack's Corner Pub in the past year. I am petitioning to shut this bar down. It is an imminent danger to the neighborhood and public safety of its residents. It's only a matter of time before someone either directly or indirectly gets shot and seriously injured or killed by one of these future altercations. The gun violence is not the only problem either, although it is the most dangerous one. There's frequently loud motorcycles and cars that do burnouts and doughnuts in the middle of Summit Street right in front of Jack's Corner Pub between midnight and very early hours of the morning. These cars have repeatedly blared obnoxiously loud music with subwoofers as late as 4 A.M. on numerous occasions (including many weeknights). It's been so loud that the walls of my apartment have shaken and woken me up. I've witnessed various fist fights on the sidewalk, and in the middle of, the street in front of Jack's. This bar has to go. Plain and simple. It is a direct threat to the peace and safety of the neighborhood. One gunfight is too many. If you care about ensuring the safety of you and your neighbors, then please consider signing this petition. We can NOT continue to live with this violence in our community. We can NOT afford to wait any longer. This bar needs to be closed A.S.A.P.

So why is this Jack's Corner Pub's fault?

They have taken 0 action in light of their patrons' gun violence. They haven't tried closing earlier. They have never called the police when things begin to escalate with their patrons in an attempt to prevent a conflict from getting out of hand. It's typically after a physical altercation or gun violence that the neighbors call 911. They have never enforced their "no firearms and weapons on this property" policy (even though there is a sign on their front door reading this). They do not cut people off from consuming alcohol and they allow their patrons to get intoxicated. They have not employed any security guards to prevent intoxicated people with firearms from entering their premises. Also, they have not employed any security guards to prevent verbal and physical altercations from getting out of control. It is precisely due to this lack of action on the bar's owners' part that we are petitioning to close this bar. It is only a matter of time before the next shooting seriously injures or kills someone.
