London Mayor Sadiq Khan did not listen, he did after all have a conflict of interest - taking all the substantial benefits as well as a large capital receipt from this £450 million development - value created by not sticking to criteria in the Lambeth Local Plan.

The criteria this site is 'inappropriate for tall building development' appears not to apply if you are the London Mayor.

We are calling on Secretary of State, Rt Hon Robert Jenrick MP to use his Article 31 powers to call the 8 Albert Embankment planning application in for the proper scrutiny of a public inquiry.

This decision will happen as soon as next week, please write immediately to:

MASSIVE THANKS

Some background:

A smaller, less dense and less tall scheme (13 and 15 storeys) was refused by the Planning Inspectorate in 2013 on the grounds of local impacts.

Now over 4000 people have signed the petition against this development and politicians on both sides of the river have stated opposition to this ‘departure' from policy application.
