Today Basingstoke Council announced it is closing ALL the mixed plastics recycling points in the Borough. This is not acceptable.

Our recycling rate is one of the worst in the country.  Basingstoke is 302nd out of the 318 local authorities in England that collect household waste.  Just 23.6% of our waste is recycled. This is not acceptable either.

We, the undersigned, call on Councillor Hayley Eachus (who is responsible for recycling and waste collection in Basingstoke) to immediately re-instate our recycling points and develop an action plan to increase recycling in our borough.
