To Clevo co. and to whom it may concern,

Owners of previous generations of high-end laptop models from clevo, namely HM model series found themselves totally alone with the introduction of EM series, which brings support to Ivy Bridge cpus along newer implementations.

Since the HM line has been released only 1 year ago with the advertisement of being "user upgradable", every owner was pretty sure to get the system updated even after the launch of the EM line.

Clevo intentionally decided to ditch every kind of support of the HM model series in favor of the newer EM series, effectively putting those models in EOL after only 1 since their debut.

The total drop of any kind of support on machines sold and advertised as "user upgradable" is a form of unfair busness, false advertisement and unprofessional way to support properly customers.

As today, Clevo still refuses to update bios support for newer GPU cards currently launched/available, such Nvidia GeForce GTX 675m and AMD Radeon HD 7970m, leaving the owners of those models without upgrades after only 12 months since the line debut.

Taking into account what has been said above, the strongest community on the planet totally devoted to Gaming Laptops such Clevo HM models, located over NOTEBOOKREVIEW.COM Forum, want to express their total sadness and unfair feeling on the matter explained.

For these reasons, on behalf of all the users over the Sager/Clevo section in Notebookreview.com Forum, located here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/

1) We ask to CLEVO CO. to act as they advertised one year ago, in the form of Bios updates for HM models such P150HM and P170HM models in order to support newer GPU cards that are already available, and at least to support another GPU upgrade when it will come out, probably by the end of the year, from NVIDIA Corporation.

2) If this request would not be possible to realize, althought theres no reason why, we ask to release in open source form the bios of the HM models described above, in order to enable the community to craft a proper bios that would eventually support those models.

The owners are upset of this line of thinking, unprofessional method of doing business that basically shows NO RESPECT and ZERO INTEREST toward customers.

Also, we would like to highlight a few points on why this kind of updates could not harm Clevo business or EM line/future products:

1) Releasing a bios update for HM models would show that CLEVO cares and takes business very seriously toward their customers.
2) HM models will be soon unavailable to buy, putting them definitely out of businnes. This however shouldn't CUT OUT existing users into upgrading those machines. The current state of things leave users with two options: either get an EM model, or switch to another brand such Dell that takes upgrades very seriously even after 2 years since the launch of a model. In some cases even more.
LETTING PEOPLE UPDATE THEIR 1 YEAR OLD MACHINE that is soon to be out of business doesn't harm in any way Clevo or EM model lines, because new users would get the EM line no matter what.
Also this would bring a positive attitude toward Clevo as a gaming laptop builder, and proper credit. In short words, more customers.

A thread available here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/666375-no-more-clevo-me.html shows clearly that users are ready to ditch/boycot CLEVO in the future to fight this inappropriate way of doing business and for false advertisement. At the current state, the deluded users are growing and the word is spreading.

We hope to get to the bottom of this.
