The INNOCENT PROJECT picked up my brother Johnny Cook's case years ago because he was denied a DNA test. They started working on getting him released  but when they went to the courts to get the physical evidence to prove his innocence, they were told by the court that they destroyed the physical evidence. So, they had to drop Johnny and told us that they could no longer help him.

Johnny has been incarcerated since he was 18 years old. He is now 58 years old and we are trying to get him home through clemency. Johnny has a daughter who is now 41 years old and he's also a grandfather as well as a great grandfather. He has been communicating with them over the phone but it would be much better if he can actually meet them in person and gain a relationship with them outside of prison. Since being incarcerated Johnny hasn't been in any type of trouble in over 15 years, and was never involved in a gang or riots. He never lost his sense of humor and still has a heart of gold. He's been active in the church band playing his bass guitar for the majority of the time that he's been incarcerated, because he always had a passion for music. We would love for him to come home to be with his family again. Johnny faithfully talks about opening up a homeless shelter and an auto detailing shop once he's released.  We would truly appreciate if you will sign this petition for our loved one to come home, we believe that he deserves a second chance at life.
