On November 9th, 2012, at 5:30pm, Clear Channel pulled the plug on Portland, Oregon's KPOJ's, AM 620's, progressive talk show format to become "Fox Sports AM 620 Portland". This action, occurring in one of the more progressive cities in the nation, is a great tragedy that should be remedied promptly. Portland already has radio stations devoted to sports but had only one progressive talk show station. The later is a rare breed across the United States, where right wing talk shows dominate the air waves. It is my understanding that ratings were about 30% as much as a competitor that airs Rush Limbaugh achieved last month, but there appeared to have been no attempt to resolve technical or promotional issues with the station before scrapping it. There were many loyal listeners with its progressive format, including myself and we want our station back. Tell everyone you know to boycott the station in its new format and urge as many people as you can to sign this petition to inform Clear Channel that their decision to ax progressive talk from the airwaves in Portland, Oregon, was at the very least premature and should be reconsidered.
