The Issue

My grandson, a dedicated and passionate athlete, is a member of the Bishop Montgomery Varsity Football team. Recently, the team faced a situation which has unfairly prevented them from taking to the field, causing significant distress and disruption not only to the players but also to their families and the community of Torrance, CA. Watching my grandson and his teammates bear the brunt of decisions made beyond their control has been heartbreaking.

The Bishop Montgomery Varsity Football team is being penalized in a way that affects their season, scholastic opportunities, and personal growth. These young athletes commit countless hours to their sport, balancing academics and training with dreams of one day making it to collegiate sports. Yet, they now find themselves spectators rather than participants due to circumstances they had no part in creating.

We urge the relevant authorities to look into this matter with urgency. Each player has demonstrated integrity both on and off the field, contributing positively to their school and broader community. It is unjust to let bureaucratic issues hinder their progress and dampen their spirit.

Many of the players rely on football for scholarships, character-building, and a sense of accomplishment. Blocking their path could have long-term impacts on their future opportunities and undermines the values of teamwork, discipline, and resilience that sports institutions advocate.

By signing this petition, you can help highlight the importance of fairness and give these athletes a chance they rightfully deserve. Support our mission to let the innocent players of Bishop Montgomery Varsity Football team play again, ensuring their hard work and commitment do not go in vain. Your signature can bring about much-needed change and restore hope and fairness to these young athletes' lives.
