Carbon Market is one of the busiest and most important places in Cebu. A lot of people go there every day to buy food, vegetables, fish, and other basic needs. It’s a big part of daily life for many Cebuanos.

But lately, the garbage situation there has been getting out of control.

You can see piles of trash left on the ground, especially after busy hours. There are plastic bags, food waste, and other garbage scattered around. Sometimes, the trash isn’t collected right away, so it starts to smell and attract flies, rats, and stray animals. This makes the place dirty and uncomfortable, not just for vendors but also for customers.

This is not just about appearance. The garbage can cause health problems. People who work there every day are exposed to bacteria and bad odors. It can also clog drainage, which may lead to flooding when it rains.

Vendors are trying to earn a living, but they are forced to work in an environment that is not clean or safe. Customers also deserve a place where they can shop without worrying about sanitation.

We are asking the local government and authorities to take this seriously and improve the regular collection of garbage, provide more trash bins in the area, make sure waste is properly managed every day, remind vendors and visitors to dispose of trash correctly, and assign personnel to monitor cleanliness.

Cleaning up Carbon Market is not impossible. It just needs proper action and consistency.
