Clean air in Brevard County schools—because our kids’ health comes first

Clean air in Brevard County schools—because our kids’ health comes first
The Issue
Clean air is essential to health, and as someone deeply concerned about the well-being of our children in Brevard County, I am advocating for the implementation of air ionization in all schools. With the alarming increase in childhood neuroinflammatory conditions such as autism, ADD, OCD, PANS, and PANDAS, it's imperative that we take active steps to evaluate and improve the environments these children are exposed to.
Airborne particles, including viruses, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and mold/mycotoxins, can trigger immune responses in susceptible children, significantly contributing to neuroinflammation. Given the current data and studies highlighting the link between indoor air quality and neurological health, it is critical that the Brevard County school system takes immediate action.
Air ionization technology has been proven to effectively reduce these harmful airborne particles by up to 97% in indoor settings, creating a safer and cleaner learning environment for students. Schools that have already integrated air ionization systems have reported noticeable improvements in air quality and a decrease in illness-related absenteeism.
In Brevard County, we have a unique opportunity to lead by example and prioritize the health of our students. Ensuring clean air is a fundamental step in preventing the exacerbation of health conditions that could impact a child's education and overall quality of life. Implementing air ionization systems in schools will demonstrate our commitment to enhancing academic performance by providing a safer, healthier learning environment.
I urge the Brevard County School Board to allocate resources and partner with air quality experts to install air ionization systems in every K-12 school. By doing so, we not only protect the vulnerable children who are most at risk but also improve the overall health standards for all students and staff.
Sign this petition to demand clean, ionized air in all Brevard County schools and ensure a healthier future for our children. Together, we can make a difference and set a new standard for academic environments across the nation.
