The Issue

Hi Neighbors,

We have a serious issue regarding our neighborhood and the safety of ourselves and our families, if we don't take action Julpit, LLC will get away with building their cement batch facility next our neighborhood and affect the health and safety of surrounding neighborhoods and businesses.

They have gone about things very sneakily and are pending permit approval to build the cement batch/rocking crushing facility in the area across the entrance to Huntington Place. According to the health department, living even five miles within a cement plant is considered VERY HAZARDOUS to humans and surrounding wildlife. They suggest living at least 20 miles away from areas containing these types of businesses. Yet, we are all about to live within 1 mile of this plant if we don't speak up and oppose this permit.

Concrete batch plants produce dust, toxins and tons of pollution. This kind of pollution can cause serious health risks long-term.

  • It can lead to heart and lung disease, as well as cancer and is known to affect lung development in children.
  • It is known to trigger or worsen chronic diseases such as asthma, heart attack, bronchitis, and other respiratory problems.
  • Has been associated with a higher risk for birth defects when pregnant people are exposed and countless other medical issues.

Not only that but the constant noise pollution of an active cement crushing plant being so close to our homes will be a nuisance and eyesore to the surrounding areas and bring further traffic delays (semitrailers, concrete mixer trucks, etc).

We have until May 8th to protest this decision and we really have to fight for our health and safety!  This effects the surrounding communities: Iowa Colony, Huntington Place, Southern Colony, Caldwell Ranch, Sienna Point, Glendale Lakes and schools within the subdivisions
