The moratorium is a public health and safety issue that needs to be addressed. It endorses a black market atmosphere where marijuana is untaxed and unregulated. A dry county or city just invites criminals to take the position that a state regulated industry could be in; criminals having no accountability for their actions is a public health and safety issue. In the black market there is no age verification, no lab testing, no limitation on amounts sold, no limit on hours of sale, no disclosure of pesticides used in production, and no warnings of effects or responsible use of marijuana.

The purpose of implementing 502 is to address an existing industry to make positive changes by taxing and regulating the marijuana industry, creating accountability for safer and healthier communities.

In conclusion when we look back in history we want to say that we made a conscious choice to progress and respectfully ask that the moratorium on recreational marijuana be lifted.
