Professor Melissa Butler has been teaching in the Sociology Department at Clark University for the last 15 years. Clark’s administration has decided not to renew Professor Butler's contract after the 2022-2023 academic year. This means that she is able to continue teaching at Clark this year and next year but will no longer be able to teach at the university after that. Many students are heartbroken by this news and we, as the MB8 Team, are taking every action necessary in order to show Clark how much of a valued professor she is and the enormous impact she has had on countless students. 

The university must recognize that Professor Melissa Butler is not an expendable commodity and deserves better. The mistreatment of professors will not be tolerated by Clark students, especially during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.
