Universal Pass For Clark Atlanta University

The Issue

Due to our current pandemic with the Corona Virus, students have been asked to return to their homes as all classes have been moved online. While online classes may work for some, it seems inequitable for many. We are spread across the nation and with different time zones, it becomes difficult. For example, 8 am in Georgia is 5 am in California. Not only that, but due to the virus many places where free internet is available to have been closed, for example, the library, Starbucks, and McDonald’s. Not all students have access to a computer, internet, or space conducive to student learning. We would like to propose a universal pass. Everyone will get a P on their transcript, and it will not impact their GPA. The framework has been created by Yale students and seems very realistic for us here at Clark Atlanta University. This pandemic has put us in an unfortunate situation, but by supporting this petition we have the opportunity to make it easier on all of us.
