We are fighting with clarion housing ( housing association). That large play equipment and toys should be outside for children. Clarion housing are telling us residents to take swings pools and toys away and out of the garden after every use. Me and the block I live in share a communal garden which most of us have children it. We brought a a swing set for the children to play with. Also pools and toys for them to enjoy the summer out in the garden. We have received a letter today. Telling us to take the swings down and the toys away. For starter we do not have a shed or anywhere to store toys. The swings are already set up and be difficult for us to put the large equipment up and down when wanting to be used . We all communicate in the block and we all agree with having play equipment in the garden is benefitting the children.
I feel as a nursery practitioner that children have the right to learn and explore and having out door equipment will help with a childs development. Personally my child has anxiety issues and sometimes we can only reach going to the garden and he feels safe there. He struggles sometimes in local community areas such as parks. Removing large equipment and toys from him will make his feel isolated and lost.
I not sure if anyone else has this issue with housing and communal areas but I feel if people agree with my argument that children. Need play equipment for gardens and other people in block or areas agree then. It should not be an issue for the housing. The housing don't have the right to take a children rights and development Facts away.
Please help me and sign this petition if you feel we should be allowed large play equipment outside.
