The Mayor of Clarington, Adrian Foster, and the Mayor of Oshawa, Dan Carter, are ramming through Durham Region's Plan for a mega-recycling plant, or 'Stink Plant', that will increase truck traffic and burning at the already-overloaded incinerator in Clarington. This is being done during this lockdown/pandemic.
No community consultation.
No information.
No pollution testing, or reports.
No accountability for health and safety.
This has a huge impact on air quality in Oshawa and Clarington now and for generations to come.
Last week, behind closed doors, Durham Region staff sent out a ‘call for proposal’ asking PRIVATELY owned and operated companies to bid on the construction, and operation, of the new mega garbage plant in Clarington, next to the incinerator.
It's well known that Clarington Council voted unanimously and unequivocally to say NO to Durham Region's Plan to import more garbage and contaminate our air quality.
Our message is clear. "We don't want more garbage burned in our already over burdened air shed".
The Mayors are NOT listening.It’s time to TAKE ACTION!
The time is now to send a clear message to them to STOP!
