Virtual School Optional/Mandatory Mask In Person
Virtual School Optional/Mandatory Mask In Person
As a concerned parent, I am voicing my opinion about the safety of my children. I do understand that education is important and I am aware of the benefits to in-person learning. I am a mother of three kids. My oldest loves and enjoys school very much, and has hopes of returning to school with things as they used to be. I have another child who is also excited about starting school for the first time. That leaves me with my baby boy who has a chronic illness. My oldest is old enough to understand the importance of wearing a mask, and following safety guidelines. My daughter, who is only three, knows that we are to wear masks out in public. However, is it feasible to tell or make a three-year-old wear a mask for 8 hours a day? How will she be able to effectively and comfortably learn in that environment?
Here in our district, we were not granted the opportunity to choose between virtual school or in-person learning. As a mother who does not feel comfortable with sending her child to school, I feel it is unfair to be forced to do so during such times. A lot of other districts have that option available to them. This petition is to see how many parents here in our district agree and feel that they should have had the opportunity to decide what is best for our children. Secondly, how many parents feel that masks should be mandatory for ALL school personnel, as well as children who are attending school in person?
The most obvious solution to the problem is to offer Virtual School and make masks mandatory for ALL who are actively involved with in-person learning.
