Today 11 March is the last day to object officially to the development and to the report. Please do so by writing to www.tinyurl.com/NewcombeNHG. Writing a personal comment to the Council at this email address has much more value than just signing the petition, so PLEASE DO BOTH if you haven't yet. The points you should raise are: 1. the building is much too tall for this area, and is contrary to Planning Policy. 2. the height shouldn't be taller than the existing. The new building is far too imposing and intrusive. 3. the height of the building is harmful to local views, listed landmarks, streets and conservation areas and causes overshadowing 4. The quality of the architecture is very mediocre/bling/commercial, not in keeping with the character of NHill. 5. The new development sees 20 affordable units demolished and does not produce any new ones. 6. the height at the rear of the new development is harmful to the houses on jameson street 7.the commercial viability study in unconvincing and needs to be looked at again 8. the double basement is against policy and wil cause much disruption.
