If anyone doubts the continuing degaradation of the waters of Zandvlei, they should read Dr Gerry Norris', microbiologist, account of what it was like in his childhood. There is a threat to the fish and bird life of the vlei, and it is nowhere near what it was in his childhood. City of Cape Town must deal with the problem.
