Another week gone by and still no official response from the City of Cape Town. Meanwhile at least 3 more sewage leaks into the vlei, one of which is ongoing. Meanwhile the mouth is closed, so no opportunity for the effluent to wash through, and the harvester, which could help to oxygenate the water, remains dormant.

One sign of activity is a new sign erected next to the Zandvlei River channel which flows into Zandvlei - "Polluted water, unfit for swimming playing or drinking".  At least a recognition that the water is toxic at last. But what is being done to remedy the situtation?
