In this petition we are humbly asking to re-name Getty Square to Earl "Dmx" Simmoms square.

Earl "Dmx" Simmons was not only a longtime Yonkers resident but he was an integral part to the community, especially in south west Yonkers.  

Even after achieving worldwide fame, Dmx never forgot his roots and would contribute to many charitable efforts for those in need.  His philanthropy is usually understated as was his heart, humility, kindness, and love for the community.

When people mention Yonkers, NY it is now synonymous with Dmx.  Therefore, I am asking for you to please consider honoring this man, not for his achievements, or fame, but for his love of the people and city of Yonkers.  That even though he could have gone to any corner of the world, he always found his way back home to the city he loved and that loves him.
