Muhammad Rizwan started this petition to City of Wolverhampton Council (Cabinet Of)

The Additional Restriction Grant – Taxi and Private Hire Grant Scheme is aimed to help the Hackney Carriage/Dual and Private Hire Drivers under City Of Wolverhampton Council Licence to help the drivers through this difficult time.
The recent announcement of this Grant was a great help towards the financial loss experienced by all drivers during this past year but many licenced Hackney Carrige/Private Hire drivers have been declined for this taxi driver 'Additional Restriction Grant' even though they are licensed with the City Of Wolverhampton Council. They have been deprived from this grant only because they don’t reside in that borough which as Wolverhampton Licenced drivers they feel this is a huge discrimination as such criteria has never been set when it comes to Licensing!!! so why should a criteria be set when it comes to Grants? Hence now all these drivers are trying to contact MPs , Councillors and yourself for your support and to represent them against this discrimination that City Of Wolverhampton Council have proposed for what is now known as postcode discrimination.
This is a complete unfair discrimination of distribution of the Grant given by Central  Government to the City of Wolverhampton Council to help their licenced Hackney Carriage/Dual and Private Hire Drivers. The City Of Wolverhampton must have got these funds from Central Government upon sending the data records of their licenced Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Licences issued so the numbers shown enabled them to obtain funds for these grants which should be distributed all Licenced Drivers fairly and equally.
City of Wolverhampton has chosen to pay this "Additional Restriction Grant – Taxi and Private Hire Grant"  to only Hackney Carriage/Dual and Private Hire Drivers who live within the borough which is unfair and a open discrimination to non residents of Wolverhampton Council Hackney Carriage/Dual and Private Hire Drivers who should be treated equally as they pay same fees/taxes to City Of Wolverhampton Council every year for their Driver badges and for their Vehicle plates same as the Hackney Carriage/Dual and Private Hire Drivers who are residents of the borough.
If all the Licencing Critera for City of Wolverhampton Council is same for resident and non residents for Hackney/Private Hire drivers so why does this discrimination be set out in a criteria any different? Residents and Non Residents of Wolverhampton have been affected with this pandemic in exactly the same way. They DO NOT live outside of England or a place where they have not been affected by Covid so why are they being treated with this particular discriminational behaviour.
Private hire and Hackney drivers have been high-risk key workers during this pandemic and it is unfair for drivers who pay their license fees to be deprived from this grant only because they DO NOT reside in Wolverhampton.
Therefore it is important they have the support of our elected representative and yours. I therefore request you to intervene and support all non resident City Of Wolverhampton Licenced Hackney/Private Hire Drivers during this pandemic and approve this Driver's Grant applications without Post Code discrimination.
Your support and understanding on this matter will help all families who have suffered immense financial loss due to less or no work at times during the pandemic as you may know any little help goes a long way.

Many Thanks
