UPDATED - Save the Little River Dirt Jumps

The Issue

***UPDATE!!!***

Little River Corridor Bike Park

We did it!! Thanks to everyone who’s helped and contributed, the pump-track is IN!!! Now, we're going for more. After many years, the endless cycle of teardowns and rebuilds could finally be coming to an end.

Due to overuse of the pumptrack, the increased demand for cycling trails and by our sheer will to ride, a new spot has been proposed to build on. Refer to the image above to see how close in proximity this new bike park would complement the existing pump track.

In the Fall of 2021, a grass-roots organization was formed from the dust of the torn down jump park from 2017. With the experience and knowledge gained through their amateur trail-building practices, this group of young people decided to take their build skills to the next level. Together, they formed the Windsor-Essex Bike Community (WEBC) and submitted a proposal to the city that will include features capable of satisfying all skill levels. This new spot would maintain a professional standard, and be free to ride for everyone.

Now that the city has shown their support and interest, WEBC is now prepared to accept donations from the community to help see this project come to fruition. All plans for the build will be provided, and a high level of transparency will be exercised. Rest assured - we want more to ride, and we know how bad the Windsor-Essex biking scene needs a place to call their own.

We want to know what you think! Your input is valuable - leave a comment with your thoughts on this project!

Love,

WEBC team

--------

This bike park was built by hand for all to enjoy, yet the city tears it down time and time again. All of the jumps are built with the goal of safe and enjoyable riding for everyone. This place is a social hub where numerous relationships are made. It is also a sanctuary for those who want time to escape their problems. Tearing this place down will break many hearts and keep kids indoors even more. Most of the kids have spent hundreds to thousands of dollars on new bikes, parts and helmets in preparation for the coming summer. Please sign the petition, these kids don't deserve to lose this place.
