I want to personally thank everyone for supporting this petition and showing interest in helping me make this a reality. I have reached out to a few local people and a 3rd party who has experience in all of the steps involved with this project.
The next step is coming up with a Business Plan we can introduce to either the City of Wheeling officials, the officials at Ohio County Commission (The Highlands), Wheeling Park Commission, or all three. This comes at a cost of around $25,000 - $35,000. The people I'm working with have stated that some colleges will offer FREE Business Plan help and may even have a class that will do a Business Plan for you as part of a class project.
I've been told the Wheeling Park location could be viable as the cooling system currently in-place could provide cooling for another (ice) pad. So we would present a business plan there knowing some variables that could help with the cost. If anyone has any contacts there, let me know.
I need help on this if anyone knows anyone or can help with developing a Business Plan for this ice rink project. Please reach out to me directly if you have someone in mind or have them contact me (info at the bottom).
ALSO, I just learned that another option is to try to push Wesbanco into having ice all year long. This is a real possibility now that they are replacing the broken cooling system with new and also replaced the dehumidification system. This "ice system" should be more efficient now and ready for 365 days of ice. We would need to talk to city officials and Denny McGruder to discuss the possibility here and what would be needed to make it happen. If anyone has any contacts with Wesbanco, let me know.
Thanks for everyone's support again and let's keep working to make this become a reality!
