The Issue

The people want safe trails to walk/bike on!

Sign this Petition to support the addition of at least 1 trail in town. #wheatlandtrail

Council members:

Please initiate a development to add a minimum 1 mile of paved, two lane, trails within city limits. It needs to be accessible to the public and free for use. See the Wheatland Bikeway Master Plan for templates.

The roads and sidewalks of the town are not suitable for leisurely walking or biking safely. To promote community fellowship, good health, and displace pedestrians from the streets/intersections create paths for recreation.

I personally greatly enjoy walking and biking as an activity, but since moving to Wheatland I need to either stay inside on a treadmill or go to another town with a real trail to avoid the commotion of vehicles dominating the roadways and intersections near walkways. The roads surrounding town do not have shoulders and are not suitable for biking. The current paved walkways are not long enough for recreational activity.

Without safe trails we will inevitably see an injured pedestrian by motor vehicle accident.

Please satisfy the community's eager desire for a more pedestrian friendly town. These trails can be outside of residential areas with or without landscaping. Give the youth a safe and healthy activity that pairs well with some well earned cool treats from the new local businesses.
