Bring back Welland Transit's weekday schedule

Bring back Welland Transit's weekday schedule
The Issue
When COVID-19 caused a shutdown of most businesses, the city of Welland was the only ATU-affiliated transit provider that shut things down to a dial-a-ride program. Meanwhile, other transit providers reverted to Sunday or holiday services.
After it was announced that Niagara was moving into stage 2 of reopening, other regional transit providers announced that regular services would continue. Meanwhile, Welland Transit was returned to Sunday services 7 days a week.
As residents of Welland, we have repeatedly contacted city council and the mayor, but to no avail. City council claims that Sunday services meet the needs of the city, but we see otherwise.
I ask that you please sign this petition to ensure that Welland Transit is returned to full services, as the present schedule is not meeting the needs of transit passengers. It is seen as inconvenient and too far behind other providers. The present level of service shows that the city of Welland puts profits before serving the community when transit is needed most.
