The fuel charge issue has been around for awhile but little has been done to remedy the situation. The FMPA has deemed the Vero Beach Utilities assets to be worthless so now the two utility companies that wanted to buy Vero beach utilities doesn't want them anymore. But the customers of Vero Beach want to know if there assets are not worth anything why does the FMPA still want to hold on to it. We believe there is something more sinister and greedy going on and we want it stopped.We have sat in silence waiting for a solution well it hasn't come and we are done waiting. There are to many people who are past due on there bills due to the fuel charge, there are to many people who have to not pay other bills so they can pay there electricity bill to make sure there kids or elderly as well as themselves have hot water and lights and there are a multitude of young adults who are trying to be responsible and start there lives but are being hindered by the daunting cost of (fuel). There are many other different situations that have caused the people of Indian river county and the customers of vero beach utility to speak out. We are asking the Florida Municiple Power Agency to help us remedy this situation or reevaluate your estimation of Vero Beach Utilities Assests and let them be sold to another Utilitiy Company  Our voices might not be heard and this petition might make no difference but we still want to do something and let the people in charge know we don't believe what is being done is ethical or fair and that we want something done.
