Travis Meyer has saved more lives in the city of Tulsa and North East Oklahoma then we could ever count. For his many years of dedicated service I believe he is deserving of a key to the city, if not the state. Always cool calm and collected, focused on the path of the storm, without the need to brag about their tracking software, or waste time reporting on damage while the storm is still going on.

The Key to the City is an honor bestowed by a city upon esteemed residents and visitors. This practice is a variation on the freedom of the city tradition, and has a similar symbolic meaning; evoking medieval walled cities, the gates of which would be guarded during the day and locked at night, the key symbolises the freedom of the recipient to enter and leave the city at will, as a trusted friend of city residents. We all see Travis as the wall of safety for our city, it is only right he is given a key in honor of his unrelenting service.
