Responsible dog owners are targeted under Breed Specific Legislation. Here are some problems that responsible owners run into when BSL is in motion. The added restrictions are simply unaffordable! Responsible owners already invest a lot of money into the health and happiness of their dogs. Irresponsible owners don't follow Breed Specific Legislation. They don't care. They see their dogs as disposable and ignore the law. This is where Vicious Dog legislation and Responsible Owner legislation is the way the City needs to address the guilty and problem issues that come from vicious dogs and irresponsible owners. Due to BSL thousands of guiltless dogs die in kill shelters every year. Thousands of guiltless dogs are torn from their families, and at what cost? The owners suffer, the children suffer, and the dogs suffer. It has been proven that breed specific legislation does not work! We request the City of Troy, Missouri to CHANGE!
