There is a huge expansion proposed by Genentech, which is of great concern to Old Town and surrounding neighborhoods.

*** Significant increase in additional traffic

*** Greater need for housing that has been established is stemming from biotech employees (estimated to reach 50,000 daily employees*).

There is a commitment for Genentech to remain in SSF and logical to request a commitment in return to protect and better serve SSF and in particular, Old Town/Downtown/Linden/Hillside/Pecks Lot areas that have already been affected and impacted by the movement from industrial to biotech.

POSSIBLE commitments would be modernizing playgrounds (Cypress Park and Paradise Valley), providing recreational and educational opportunities for youth (teen center, additional play areas, full basketball court playgrounds, etc.), a community center to serve Spanish speaking residents and businesses that have been a positive asset to SSF, mitigation plans for increased traffic, senior park with benches and garden area, senior programs, etc.

Thank you for your continued support.
