BELOW is an email received from a City of SSF representative on 7/20/20 during the time the ShapeSSF zoom workshops and meetings were being held, regarding the next 20-year General Plan. Although I'm just sharing the great news now that there are no plans by the City to change the zoning designation of the lots, it was paramount to receive confirmation during meetings and to have all of our voices heard to stress the dire need and significance of maintaining these parks and to request for an upgrade to Cypress Park, as well as the importance of preserving the historical value of Old Town (without further infiltration of high rise buildings) and to demonstrate the need of a community and teen center.
---> I am working on the next phase, which is for the use of impact fees collected by the City of SSF to be invested in our community of Old Town/Downtown area.
---> Other good news, City representatives have promised a community center (no details yet).
INFORMATIONAL NOTICES:
FREE recreational opportunities at Paradise Valley and Irish Greens (located at Armour/Airport, entrance at Linden/Airport) throughout the month of October from 2:30-5 pm. Please refer to www.ssf.net/departments/parks-recreation/recreation-division
There is still time to complete the Census 2020 to be counted and represented, especially in today's world. Please refer to the website, 2020Census.gov, on the importance and the impact it has on communities, ours included. There are still many SSF residents who have not completed the census. Help available in English and Spanish by calling 650-677-6491.
Thank you all for supporting to keep Cypress Park, Pine Ave and other lots in Old Town area, while preserving its historical value and peaceful way of living.

Subject: General Plan update - parks designation to remain
Hello - We noted there is a petition to save downtown parks that you may be a part of. If you are not the correct person, my apologies.
https://www.change.org/p/city-of-south-san-francisco-no-high-rise-buildings-save-cypress-park-pine
We would like to clarify that the City does not have any plans to change the zoning designation or use of these parks. The draft land use map alternatives all include parks designation on these sites (though due to the scale of the maps it may be difficult to see that). Our consultant is clarifying the maps to better represent the park designation.
(...)
we are also updating the information on the project web page to better show the park designation on the land use maps:
Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information. I can be reached at 650-333-0248.
