5025 Old National remains abandoned and vacant and has been an eyesore for over twenty years. This underutilized space could literally save the youth in this community instead it sits waiting to deteriorate rather than nurturing the community in which it's located. We're proposing that (we) the residents hold fund raising events, utilize social media, and form a door to door committee of dedicated residents to secure funding for purchase and revitalization of the abandoned Target building. Nearly ten years ago this area was picketed for being a food desert.  In 2018 little has changed in the availability of fresh produce within a two mile radius. Our mission is to establish a Black Owned Grocery Store and community center at 5025 Old National Hwy.
