The Hahn Building, Hotel Elliott, Green Tortoise hostel…whatever you prefer to call it, we need YOU to help save it!

On Wednesday, December 2, the Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board will consider the property’s landmark nomination at a virtual meeting beginning at 3:30PM Pacific Time via WebEx.

The building is obviously historic and a key part of Seattle’s iconic brick intersection at the entrance to Pike Place Market. But it is still threatened by development and we must act NOW to protect it!

What can you do? Support nomination by sending written comments! Email City Historic Preservation Officer Sarah Sodt today or by Tuesday, December 1. You can also attend the December 2 meeting and sign up to speak.* The meeting agenda, including WebEx link, will be posted one week prior to the meeting on Seattle’s Department of Neighborhoods website.

Learn more about how to write your comments. Comments must relate to one or more of the six criteria for nomination (listed at the bottom of this update). Criteria C and F are the most relevant for this nomination. In your comments, please add your personal stories about the property.

This is our last chance to Save The Market Entrance – the time to speak up is now!

Thank you for taking action,

Ruth Danner | President
