This petition is in support of the proposed six lot development at 834 Lakeshore Road, Sarnia. The refusal to allow this development to proceed hurts all residents of Sarnia and will mean higher property taxes in the future.

The unemployment rate is an ongoing concern in Sarnia Lambton. This is an opportunity to add much needed employment to the Sarnia community. The development of this property will benefit many local trades and businesses. Wicks Homes hires local contractors, buys supplies locally, has equipment serviced and repaired locally. 

An Environmental Impact Study was prepared by Natural Resources Solution Inc. NRSI has indicated that the proposed development will not negatively impact the woodland area provided the proper mitigation steps are followed and Wicks Homes is in full agreement to go above and beyond what is expected.

The park fees, permit fees and property taxes that will be collected due to this development is a plus for the city of Sarnia. The city will collect over $85K in park fees, $150K in permit and cost fees, with an estimated $100K in new property taxes every year.

Property owners in the area are against this development. It is understandable that residents prefer to live next to a woodland area as opposed to neighbours, but this development is in Sarnia's best interest and neighbours are currently using this current vacant land to suit their own needs. 

Together we can make a difference! The city needs to make the right decision to stand by all its citizens!
