For 10 yrs Salina has had a ban on pit bulls not because pit bulls are dangerous but because the owners of them at the time where just ignorant and didn't know what they where doing. So now innocent lives are being murdered at the hands of the shelter workers because of one mans hate for pit bulls. Pit bulls have repeatedly proven themselves to be loyal members of their families and communities around the country and theirs no reason why any pit bull shouldn't be given at least a chance for survival. I would like to see the ban on Pit bulls lifted or at least revised so that they can have a chance to go to no kill shelters and or be placed in foster homes where they can get the love and training that they desperately need. It's time for the people of Salina to stand up and say enough killing give these animals a chance. Lift the ban and make it mandatory to sterilize them and place a limit on them and crack down on those that abuse them and use them wrongfully. And at least allow rescues and other shelters to be able to pull them and take them out if the area where they can have a chance at life.
