Currently, in Roseville, the designated spots are not completely adequate for drone flying. Those spots are Maidu Park (in a specific location), Veteran's Park, and Saugstad Park. Each of those parks are public recreation areas and can (at times) have a considerable number of people present.

This is why Miner's Ravine, specifically the section adjacent to East Roseville Parkway and Orvietto Drive, is perfect for drone flight. Here's a map link to the area: https://goo.gl/maps/PNfdmSwFi6YiznNp6 

Since it is a nature trail, it is not subject to scheduled sport events and gatherings. Also, if FAA rules are followed, Miner's Ravine can be a safe place for recreational drone flight. 

In addition to creating a safer place for hobby flight, teaching and learning, it is likely that permit purchases for permission to fly in designated areas would increase. Any person who signs this petition is willing to pay the permit price for permission to fly. 

We're asking that the city take steps to understand our hobby and recognize our needs. The goal in our hobby is to grow and learn, we hope that city officials would do the same.
