Allison Alexander started this petition to City Manager City of Prosper and

The City of Prosper broke the news that our beloved fire chief, Chief Stuart Blasingame, has put forth his resignation and the city accepted it. This is a huge loss for our city, our PISD community, and the men and women of the Prosper Fire and Police Departments. The City had the power to not accept this resignation and work with our Chief in solving the issue that is at hand, but they refused. Because of their inability to see the true value of the men and women of Prosper Fire and Police, we are potentially losing the best Chief this town has, or ever will, see.

Having worked in public service for a majority of my adult life, I know how men like Stuart Blasingame don’t come around often. It is so hard to find a leader that truly loves and cares about the men and women he serves with, and also loves the community he serves, with all his heart. He is the man we want leading when things go wrong.

Stu would never ask us to take a stand for him, would never ask us to show up and fight for him. He would ask us to fight for his men and women that he fought so hard for. So let’s do both. Let’s let the town leadership know we do not accept losing our Chief, but we also do not accept our heroes salaries being so low compared to other cities around us. To have the best, we must pay those who put their lives on the line comparable to the cities around us or we lose the best.

Remember those times when Chief himself, another fire fighter, or police officer was there for you in your greatest time of need. Whether it was the death of a loved one, a car accident, house fire, or even just a time when you’ve seen them in public or at a school event. Remember those times, because now it’s our time to show up for them. To see our Chief stay where he belongs, while also making sure our public safety professionals are fairly compensated for a job where they could easily lose their life while trying to save ours.
