Save the spruce kings
OPEN ROLLING MIX CONCRETE ARENA
The Prince George Spruce Kings are a community owned and operated team that play out of the Junior A BCHL League. They have provided quality fun family entertainment for the people of Prince George and the surrounding area since 1972. The players come from all over North America to fulfill their dreams of playing junior hockey with hopes of getting a NCAA Scholarship. The Spruce Kings are now in jeopardy of not only losing out on playing out this season but possibly losing the team for good. This unfortunate situation is due to the closing of their home arena because of COVID and now maybe permanently. The Kings rely on the sale of tickets to run the team and playing out of a smaller arena is not viable or realistic for the team. As stated by Kyle Anderson, “ If the Spruce Kings are forced out of the RMCA it is likely the team would cease to operate this season, it is highly unlikely the organization could recover financially and would be forced to cease operations permanently.” The Kings need our help so we are looking to get as many signatures as possible to present to city hall.
