The city of Port Moody, that currently has no by-laws surrounding having backyard chickens, has asked us to rip down and do away with our beautiful chickens we have raised from baby chicks. We started this endeavour during Covid as a way to introduce our three little boys to where food comes from. With food shortages and food insecurity at our door due to climate change, we feel Port Moody must allow these types of small eco minded steps. As well, our girls help fertilize our veggie garden in a natural and sustainable way. Please help us save our beloved girls and tell the city of Port Moody that short sided thinking will not serve us in the years to come when grocery stores have limited supplies due to drought and climate migration. We are all in this together.
